Our deepest condolences to the family of our Judo colleague Mr. ANTONIO DE CASTRO

Updated: Jun 12, 2021

Sensei Antonio De Castro, 5th Dan was a dedicated Judo Coach. He has mentored many young athletes who later on formed part of the National Team as well as those who became top judokas of leading university teams.

He was a National Champion from '82-'89, trained in Kodokan with our athletes contending for the Olympics back in 1988, represented the country at the Pacific Rim Judo Championships in China and later on the Asian Championships in Kuwait.

Sensei Tony, is remembered as a strict coach and disciplinarian on the tatami but was a good friend and second father to his athletes outside the mats. He was a loving father to his own children whom he raised and trained under the Judo discipline.

The entire Judo community, in the Philippines and friends abroad will not forget you and your contributions to Judo.

We offer our final bow to a good Judoka, coach, and friend. Rei .
